Barbara's Burgers in Bells, Texas

Bells, Texas

Story Narrative:

"My favorite memory of growing up in my hometown of Bells, Texas, was going to a little local burger shack called Barbara's Burgers. It was run by a proprietor named Barbara Snow, and she had a way with a burger. When I was growing up, her hamburgers cost .25, and if you wanted it to be a cheeseburger, it was .35.

The funny saying in our town about Barbara Burger's was, 'If you were looking for the meat, and couldn't find it, just look under the pickle.' It was a great place to eat, just a small little, one-room building with a few bar stools to sit on at the counter. It was the place to go at lunch time if you went to school there in Bells. It is no longer there, and we all really miss it."
