The Lotus Festival in Bloomington, Indiana

Bloomington, Indiana

Story Narrative:

"I lived for 7 years in Bloomington, Indiana, which is a small town in Southern Indiana, a college town of about 40,000 students and 40,000 townies as we called them. Every year in September, they hold a world music festival, called the Lotus Festival, and it's wonderful collection of artists from around the world, playing everything from traditional, folky, guitar songs to West African choral music and everything in between. And, the festival was named for a song writer in Southern Indiana by the name of Lotus Dickey. That's his first and last name, a man of renown in Southern Indiana."
