Southern Family Living in New York

Weirton, West Virginia

Story Narrative:

"Let's see, what recipes were passed from generation to generation? Every Sunday we had a roast beef with rice and gravy and peas and a salad. We had, we were southern family living in New York. We had grits and cheese and gravy and caramel cake was passed down from generation to generation. It's always a big thrill to see who can out do who with the caramel cake. Then there was sweep potato pie and rice pudding, but most of all, that roast beef with the big chunks of garlic in it and that I really remember very much."
