Shortbread cookies and Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Alpena, Michigan

Story Narrative:

"Recipes that were passed down from generation to generation in my family were shortbread cookies. My grandma was born in Scotland and her great grandmother used to make shortbread cookies and it's just been down from generation to generation. Hopefully I will be able to make them when I get older. Another recipe that my other grandparents on my mom's side used to make were apple, not apple, pineapple upside down cake. That is a really good recipe that they used to make from scratch and my grandpa used to make it for my birthday all the time, so that was one of my favorite cakes I used to have when I was little."
