No Strangers in Michigan Small Towns

As told by Patty
Alpena, Michigan

Story Narrative:

What's your favorite memory of living in a small town?

"Hi, I'm Patty and I grew up in Dearborn, Michigan. Was a wonderful place to grow up in. We had kind of a really great community. Everybody knew everything about everybody. There were no strangers and if there were, we all knew who they were. In my early '20s I moved to San Diego with my husband who was in the Navy. San Diego is a great place to be. Again, wonderful, wonderful people. Just like family everywhere. Then when I was 59, I moved to Florida, another great place to be, and now I'm back here enjoying my time in Alpena. Lovely little museum. Maritime is in, I guess. Talking with these wonderful people who also sometimes are in Florida. I'm having a great day, and I hope other people that come here will too."
