Long Lines in the 2008 Election, Texas

Woodbine, Iowa

Story Narrative:

"I think my first time voting was the election where Obama became president. I can't remember if I voted or not, but what I do remember is that I stood in line, with my mom for like hours. I lived in Texas at the time, and the voting county that I was supposed to vote at had these humongous lines. We stood in line for three hours before we were able to get into vote. That's all I remember about my first time, and I don't remember if I really voted. I think I did because I was 18 at that time, 18 whatever or 21. I can't even remember since 2009. I think that was the first reflection I had of voting."
