Immigrating from China into California, Lake Forest, California

"This is Wanda Miller. I'm talking about my life. I'm a Native Californian. My father came from China, so I understand that in the time that he came, there was a closure of Chinese people coming from China. Now, I did know that my father came through Canada and then speaking to the historian here, he said, 'The only way you could come into the US is through Canada or through Mexico.'

My father did come through Canada. My father is probably known as a paper son as well.He has since got his citizenship, so it is interesting to see this Smithsonian display and how that affected my life. Thank you. Okay, let's go and ..."
