Homecoming Traditions Flagstaff, Arizona

"Flagstaff, Arizona, is home to Northern Arizona University, home of the Lumber Jacks, and sports bring the town together throughout the year, especially football. Homecoming weekend is not just for the university. The university is in the center of the town, and so on homecoming weekend all the streets are closed. We do a huge homecoming parade in the streets with all the fraternities, the different colleges, any organization from the campus.

Of course, the football team is there, and after that you go down to the Walkup Sky Dome and watch the homecoming football game. The town also does Tequila Sunrise, which is the bars are open 24 hours. You drink from sunrise to sunrise essentially, and that of course, brings out everyone, and it’s all for this ceremonial homecoming weekend."
