"Recipes that I made sure we didn’t lose from my mom who's now 97 years old and still cooking her favorite recipes were Tourtière, which are French Canadian meat pies for Christmas Eve we would all gather and get together and go to Midnight Mass, and then we would have Réveillon, which was the party we held after Midnight Mass at one of the relatives homes, and we would have Tourtière served, and then in the morning we would have breakfast with couton and the favorite recipe was usually for dessert tarte aux myrtilles, blueberry pie. And, of course we can’t forget mom’s special pickled beats recipe that everybody just waits for during the gardening season."
