Working with Animals and in the Fields in Wyoming--Kathy Rebusher

As told by Kathy Rebusher
Pinedale, Wyoming

Story Narrative:

"Hi, this is Kathy Rebusher. I am just gonna give you a little, rough story on some of my job histories, 'cause I've had a lot of interesting jobs. I've worked for outfitters over the years, a lot of years. I've worked for a lot of ranchers over the years, a lot of years. I've worked out in the Jonah Field, doing every kind of job from roustabout to truck driving, equipment operating, taking care of wells in locations.

I've worked at a veterinary clinic, which I have always loved working with animals, so I really enjoyed that job. Now, I am working at Rendezvous Pointe in Pinedale, driving the senior citizens around and I really love it. It's so interesting to be around them and I love helping them."

This story was collected in conjunction with the Smithsonian's Museum on Main Street program and its national traveling exhibition "The Way We Worked" when it was on view at the Sublette County Public Library in Pinedale, Wyoming, in 2018. This story is part of the "Be Here: Main Street" story collection, intended to capture Americans' stories about their neighborhoods, waterways, towns, traditions, and personal experiences.
