Sports History at Arkadelphia High School, Arkansas

As told by Arkadelphia High School students and Mattison Griffin
Arkadelphia, Arkansas

Story Narrative:

A screenshot of a presentation about sports, showing a girls volleyball team.

Students at Arkadelphia High School collaborated with Mattison Griffin, a student in the Public History program at Ouachita Baptist University, to explore the history of the high school’s athletic teams and supporting organizations. They located many photographs and conducted oral history interviews with former students like Caroline Wood and Ken Duke, whose interviews are also located in the Stories from Main Street archive.

This .pdf presentation includes details about the evolution of the school's baseball, volleyball, and softball teams as well as vintage photos of the 1905 school football team and images of the cheer squad back in 1950 and 1970.
