Reminiscences of Summer Fun at a Water Park, Ohio

"When I was younger, one of me and my two sisters’ favorite summer activities was going to spend a day at Kings Island, an amusement park a little less than an hour away from our home. It felt like a mini road trip each time we went which was then followed by a day of fun on all the different roller coasters they had to offer there. Though the rides were always exhilarating and fun for me I wanted to move on to the other half of the park – the water park. It was filled with slides and water tubes to make your day even more exciting than it already was. The first thing I so clearly remember though was my first dip into the wave pool with my sisters. When we first entered the water it was very still. It was cold but the two shoved me in and we all splashed together and started having a blast.

This first time we entered we had no idea there were waves to come. Catching us off guard we slowly began to move backwards with the water. Many waves had started to coming towards at us, faster and faster and were growing each time. I was a bit nervous as it began. I didn’t want to be engulfed by the water. But my sisters being much older and bigger than me would lift me up as much as they could each time a wave came and before I knew it I was having the time of my life. Each wave felt like a mini roller coaster. The water didn’t feel so cold anymore and I loved every bit of it with my best friends by my side. The water became a place of joy and pleasure for me and I got to continue my adventures with it through all the rides and slides at Kings Island."
