Students from Latta Middle School interview School Superintendent Dr. John Kirby for an in-depth look into the history of Latta and other nearby communities. Follow along with Dr. Kirby as he details how the economy of the South shifted from agriculture to manufacturing and how it impacted rural South Carolina. He attributes the survival of Latta in part to its quality school system. To see more about Latta, check out the students' other story A Glimpse of the Past in Historic Latta.
